This wonderful old bowl has the most incredible sound, and must surely rank among the best singing bowls I have ever encountered. The complexity of sound is amazing…with multiple harmonics that include a concert pitch third octave A, a second octave Eb (sometimes accompanied by a second octave D) when struck with a padded mallet, and a stunning third octave Bb when played around the rim. The struck notes, in particular, are awesome…and the sustain goes on and on! This bowl will also produce excellent fountains if played with a little water inside.

This bowl is superbly crafted too. It’s a heavy bowl with fine walls and a low profile. Decoration is limited to a pair of incised parallel lines forming a collar just below the rim. The colour is an attractive and fairly dark antique bronze. The condition is excellent…clean and stain-free.

Huge antique bowls of this size and quality are very rare indeed.  This bowl is exceptional in every respect!
