Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl. A3 Note (220Hz) Third Eye Chakra
Weight 2 lb 4 ½ oz (1.04 kilos). 19 x 11 cm (approx. 7 ½ x 4 ¼ inches)
This is a large 19th century Thadobati Singing Bowl with an exceptionally beautiful third octave A voice. The struck note has a frequency of around 222Hz, while the played note is a perfect concert pitch 220Hz if a suede ringer is used. The rim note changes to a fifth octave Eb if a wooden ringer is employed. This old bowl is structurally sound and features circles at its centre and a band of tiny cuts or digs forming a decorative collar just below the outer rim. The bowl has an attractive antique bronze colour and has the look and feel of antiquity. It comes in its ‘as found’ unpolished condition.
