This COMPLETE CHROMATIC/CHAKRA SET OF 12 ANTIQUE LINGAM SINGING AND HEALING BOWLS is undoubtedly one of very few in the world today.   I have certainly never heard of another, and it is only the second complete set I have been able to assemble in the 30 plus years I have been personally collecting antique bowls at source in the Himalayas.  This middle (4^th) octave set of small to medium Lingams was finally completed on 7^th November 2019, following a recent trip to Nepal where I negotiated the purchase of a bowl dealer’s personal life-time collection of antique Lingams. 

Antique Lingam bowls have distinctive physical and sonic qualities, and are used in healing and sacred rituals and ceremonies.  They are so rare that most singing bowl collectors and practitioners will never have encountered or handled a single bowl, and even top international bowl dealers seldom have more than one or two for sale, if any, so one can only imagine how special and unique this complete 12-piece chromatic/chakra set of 12 is.  

This set has been gradually assembled from rare Lingams collected in the Himalayas over 30 years, with each bowl painstakingly matched by pitch, octave, size, shape and condition.  They have been tuned to the fundamental note when hand-held and struck with a padded mallet.  In most cases the played rim note is the same.  The bowls vary a little in shape and size but most have a similar form with the distinctive central lingam and navel/yoni underneath, and date from the 18^th and 19^th Century (the C#4 bowl is a little larger and heavier than the others, but was included to complete the set).  Incredibly half of the bowls in this unique set are perfect pitch, and most of the others are very close!

All the bowls are in excellent structural condition and basically unblemished, but with some being cleaner or having a more aged patina than others.   Each bowl is supplied with a cushion and ringer.   Audio clips will be added soon.
