Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. G2 Note (97.5Hz) Throat Chakra
Weight 1.94 kilos (4 lb 4 ¼ oz). Size 27 x 13.5 cm (approx. 10 ¾ x 5 ¼ inches)
This large antique Jambati singing bowl has a fabulous and rare low second octave G fundamental with a frequency of 97.5Hz that is virtually perfect concert pitch when struck with a padded mallet. The rim note is the same G2 but with a nice middle D harmonic (292Hz) that can be brought out with a suede ringer. This 19th century bowl is in excellent condition, and clean inside and out with some slight copper oxidization inside. The bowl has a pleasant mildly conical form. Decorative features include faint circles at its centre and incised lines forming a collar around the outer rim.
