Himalayan Ultabati Singing Bowl. D3 (148Hz) Sacral Chakra
Weight 3 lb 4 ½ oz (1.49 Kilos). 24.5 x 12.5 cm (approx. 9 ¾ x 5 inches)
This handsome antique Himalayan Ultabati Singing Bowl has lots of vibrant energy and an excellent pulsating third octave D fundamental (148Hz) that is close to concert pitch when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note is slightly closer to Eb3 at 151Hz. This is a really responsive bowl that is easy to play.
Ultabati bowls have a very distinctive caldron-like form with fine walls, a scooped or flared neck and an out-turned downward-sloping lip. This one has a grooved lip, multiple decorative concentric circles inside (unusual for this type of bowl) and a pair of incised lines around the outer wall.
This bowl is structurally sound and free of stains. It has a beautiful bronze colour with attractive hammer markings, and is the perfect size and weight for hand-held playing.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
