Himalayan Ultabati Singing Bowl. E4 Multi-Harmonic (339Hz) Solar Plexus Chakra
Weight 2 lb 1 ½ oz (947 grams). 22 x 10.5 cm (approx. 8 ¾ x 4 ½ inches)
This fine-walled antique Himalayan Ultabati Singing Bowl has an unusual multi-harmonic voice and a rare middle E fundamental (339Hz). There are so many harmonics present, and each can be brought to the fore with a little practice and maybe a change of striker or ringer. These include two low second octaves, B and Bb, and even an F4.
Ultabati bowls have a very distinctive caldron-like form with fine walls, a scooped or flared neck and an out-turned downward-sloping lip. This one has concentric circles inside (unusual for this type of bowl) and a pair of incised lines around the outer wall.
This bowl is structurally sound and free of stains. It has a beautiful golden bronze colour with attractive hammer markings, and is the perfect size and weight for hand-held playing.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
