Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl – A3 Note & Superb Condition
SOLD
Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl. A Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 2 lb 6 ¾ oz (1.10 kilos). 21 x 7 cm (approx. 8 ¼ x 2 ¾ inches)
This is a large antique Manipuri Singing Bowl in exceptionally nice condition. The struck note is a third octave G# with a subtle A harmonic overtone. The rim note is a very nice low A3 when played with a suede ringer.
At well over 1 kilo this is a heavy Manipuri. It has unusually thick walls and a superb grooved lip. There are two concentric circles in the centre of the bowl and several incised bands forming a collar below the outer rim, all of which are nicely defined. The bowl has a bright golden colour and is exceptionally well preserved and free of stains and blemishes.
A fantastic example of a well-crafted Manipuri singing bowl with a great voice, and in wonderful condition.
A Tibetan brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
