Antique Shaman Singing Bowl. Notes D4 & G5 (Sacral & Throat Chakras)
Weight 1 lb 5 ¼ oz. (599 grams). Size 17.5 x 4.5 cm (7 x 1 ¾ inches)
This shallow antique bowl is of a type sometimes used as a container by Shaman on ritual and ceremonial occasions. This may be its primary function as it is difficult to play around the rim, although it has two struck notes, a middle D (287Hz) with a soft or suede mallet, and a fifth octave G (797Hz) with a hard wooden one.
It’s an interesting bowl with a sun or eye at its centre on both sides, and a chain of suns along its lip and and around the rim, the latter set within incised lines. The bowl is structurally sound.
A Tibetan silk brocade cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
