Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. D3 Note (Sacral Chakra)
Weight 2 lb 11 ¼ oz (1.23 Kilos). 22 x 10 cm (approx. 8 ¾ x 4 inches)
This is a medium size antique Jambati singing bowl with a good third octave D fundamental (struck note) that is sometimes accompanied by subtle harmonics, including C#3. The note is the same D3 when played around the rim with a suede ringer.
This old bowl has been well used over the years as the decorative concentric circles that once graced the inside floor have virtually disappeared, and the incised banding below the rim is faint.
However, this is an attractive bowl that has retained all its structural integrity and is clean to look at and very pleasant to hold and play. The walls are of a generous and consistent thickness, and the bowl has a nice colour with some patina of age.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
