Attractive 9 ½” Mid 20th Century Golden Jambati Singing Bowl – Perfect Pitch C3
SOLD
Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: C3 & G4 (Root & Throat Chakras)
Weight 1.5 kilos (3 lb 3 oz). Size 24 x 10.5 cm (9 ½ x 4 10 ¾ x 4 ¼ inches)
This Jambati Singing Bowl with its plain graciously curved wall and sheered lip is believed to date from the mid 20th century. It’s an attractive bowl with clean smooth polished walls. The bold line encircling the inner rim is the result of the metal being folded over to level and strengthen the rim during the forging process.
The fundamental note is an excellent perfect pitch third octave C3 (130Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note is a middle octave G4 (384Hz) with a wooden ringer.
It is in excellent structural condition free of stains and blemishes, with a nice golden bronze colour.
A padded striker and a ringer are included in the price.
