This heavy and beautifully proportioned Thadobati Singing Bowl looks like it was forged from pure gold.   I don’t think I’ve seen one with a richer golden bronze colour.

 

 

It has a thick sheered lip, a polished golden interior with concentric circles at its centre, and a polished band surrounding the outer rim that contrasts with well with the mottled matt patina below.

 

 

The fundamental note is a good third octave G# (210Hz) with a fairly long sustain. The rim note is the same with a suede ringer, but changes to a fifth octave Eb (628Hz) with a wooden one.

 

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.

 

A very attractive bowl with a good voice!
