Bell-Shaped Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl – Rare A3 Note
SOLD
Antique Bell-Shaped Tibetan Singing Bowl. A Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 13 ¼ oz (831g). 18 x 9 cm (approx. 7 x 3 ½ inches)
This is a medium-weight bell-shaped Thadobati Singing Bowl (circa 19th Century) with a level lip and fine, slightly splayed, walls. The bowl is in very good condition for its age, with barely a mark or blemish.
It is distinguished by having an unusual and very nice third octave A fundamental note when stuck with a mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. With a little water inside this bowl also has fountain capabilities.
Very few bowls sing an A note, and those that do are often small Manipuri, so this old Thadobati will appeal greatly to anyone assembling a Chakra set.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
