Charming and Very Rare Tiny Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl – My Smallest!
£360.00
Tiny Thadobati Singing Bowl. Notes: G#4 & D6 (Throat & Sacral Chakras)
Weight: 233 grams (0 lb 8 oz). Size: 11 x 5.5 cm (4 ¼ x 2 ¼ inches)
This is an extremely rare tiny antique Thadobati Singing Bowl. Weighing just 233 grams and with a diameter of 11 cm it is the smallest Thadobati I have come across in over 40 years of collecting.
The fundamental note is a bright middle octave G#4 (425Hz) when struck with a wooden ringer or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a powerful and penetrating sixth octave D6 (1199Hz) with a wooden ringer. It is very responsive and easy to play.
It is beautifully proportioned and fits snugly in the palm of the hand. It has fine walls, a sheered lip and a flattish bottom. There are well-worn circles at its centre and a decorative band of tiny cuts encircling the outer rim.
This tiny 19th century Thadobati has been well used and worn smooth with the passage of time, but remains structurally sound and free of stains and blemishes. It has a bright golden bronze colour.
Small singing bowls of all types are very collectable and highly sought-after. Snap it up quick!
A small ringer is included in the price.
