This large premium quality antique Thadobati Singing Bowl has an exceptionally beautiful voice…powerful and pulsating, with a long sustain when struck.  The fundamental note is a third octave G# (209-212Hz) when struck or played with a suede ringer, but the rim note changes to a fifth octave Eb (603Hz) when a wooden ringer is used.

This heavy bowl has been beautifully forged.  It has a flat bottom and high-sided walls much thicker than normal.  There is a very nice even and lightly-grooved lip, some dotted decoration around the outer rim, and well defined concentric circles at its centre.  This 19th century bowl has lots of visual interest…a particularly nice feature being the change in surface texture halfway down the outer wall.  It has an attractive matt antique bronze colour, and is in excellent structural condition.  A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
