Weight 2 lb 14 ¼ oz (1.31 kilos). 21.5 x 9.5 cm (approx. 8 ½ x 3 ¾ inches)
This large premium quality antique Thadobati Singing and Talking Bowl has two exceptional concert pitch voices…a third octave G (197Hz) when struck or played with a suede ringer, and a fifth octave D harmonic (587Hz) that can readily be brought out with either a suede or wooden ringer. It also has an exceptional talking voice when played and rocked back and forth with a little water inside.
This heavy bowl has been beautifully forged. It has a flat bottom, a faintly grooved lip and gently curved walls with decorative dotted bands below the rim and around the belly. There are two sets of concentric circles at its centre. It has a golden bronze colour, and is in good clean structural condition.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
THREE amazing voices from a single antique bowl!
Listen: (2 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede ringer then wood, and some talking)
