This large antique Jambati Singing Bowl is so beautifully forged that it would be hard to find its equal.  Everything about it speaks of quality and attention to detail.  It has the most beautiful shape, with finely hammered curved walls that rise from a small base and end with a wide inward-facing grooved lip.  A series of precisely incised bands encircle the bowl; forming a decorative collar below the outer rim.  The surface area defined by the collar has been made smooth to contrast with the closely hammered surface below it…a very nice touch indeed!  There are several decorative circles at the bowl’s centre.  Weighing almost 2 kilos this is a remarkably heavy bowl for its size.

As one might expect from a bowl of this quality…it has a voice to match.  The struck note and the played note are the same fabulous middle octave C# (271Hz).   The struck has a pronounced pulse and a long sustain.

This lovely Jambati singing bowl would grace any collection.  It is in an outstanding state of preservation, clean and free of stains.  A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker, and a ringer are all included in the price.
