Exceptional & Versatile Thadobati Singing Bowl – Concert Pitch A
SOLD
Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl. A Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 2 lb 3 oz (992g). 20 x 9.5 cm (approx. 7 ¾ x 3 ¾ inches)
This is a large and truly exceptional fine quality antique Thadobati Singing Bowl, and undoubtedly one of the very best in our collection. This lovely old bowl not only has a wonderful concert pitch fundamental note, a third octave A, but with a little water inside it also has a great talking voice AND good fountain abilities! The struck note and the played rim note are the same superb low A3. It is extremely pleasant to hold and very responsive and quick to sing.
This is a handsome bowl too, with a lovely shape, smooth even walls and a good level lip. There are some (now faint) concentric circles in the centre and a pair of decorative incised lines around the middle of the outer wall. It has a grooved lip, and a double row of small bi-directional gashes forming a collar just below the rim.
The condition of this old bowl is excellent. It has a lovely golden colour and is clean and virtually free of stains and blemishes.
If you are looking for a versatile top quality Thadobati bowl…this is it!
