Exceptionally Thick Golden Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl – F#4 (364Hz)

This heavy Thadobati Singing Bowl probably dates from the first quarter of the 20^th century and has unusually thick walls that would have been a challenge to forge.  It has a thick grooved lip, well-defined circles at the centre, and two bands of tiny decorative cuts encircling the outer rim.   A pair of lightly incised bands halfway down the outer wall forms a boundary between smooth surface above and textured surface below, and there are faint circles underneath.

The fundamental note is a nice middle F#4 (364Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer.

This Thadobati Singing Bowl is in excellent structural condition and unusually clean and well preserved, with some copper oxidization inside.   It has an attractive rich golden bronze colour. 

A padded striker and double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
