Exquisite & Extremely Rare Antique Ultabati-Lingam Singing Bowl – C#3
SOLD
Antique Singing Bowl. Notes: G#3 & D6 (Throat & Sacral Chakras)
Weight: 900 grams (1 lb 0 oz). Size: 19.5 x 9 cm (7 ¾ x 3 inches)
This is an exquisite and extremely rare Antique Ultabati-Lingam Singing Bowl, and the finest example I have encountered in over 40 years of collecting. It combines the typical body shape of an Ultabati with a superb Lingam at its centre.
The fundamental note is a superb third octave C#3 (135Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The vibrant energy of this bowl is such that it is capable of producing the OM sound.
This superior quality 19th Century bowl has beautifully hammered walls of an even thickness, a pronounced shoulder with two defining decorative bands, and a downward-sloping rim. At its center there is a fabulous large Lingam surrounded by two sets of circles, and underneath a matching navel or yoni.
The structural condition of this bowl is excellent, and it is free of stains and blemishes. It has a fabulous dark antique bronze colour with an aged patina.
A rare and perfect bowl in every way, and a personal favourite!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
