Antique Singing Bowl. Notes A3 (219Hz) & Eb5 (620Hz) Third Eye & Solar Plexus Chakras
Weight 1 lb 4 oz. (564 grams). Size 16 x 6.5 cm (6 ¼ x 2 ½ inches)
This exceptionally beautiful and rare antique singing bowl is believed to date from the 17th century and looks and feels like the antique sacred object it is. Indeed it’s quite hard to part with, and its new keeper will have something very special to treasure and play.
This bowl has a third octave A fundamental (219Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer, which will also produce a fifth octave Eb (620Hz). Both notes are very close to perfect concert pitch. The rim note changes to a high sixth octave C# with a wooden ringer.
This hand-forged bowl has bags of character with circles at the centre, a superb dot-punched inscription, ritual gashes around the outer wall, and lovely antique bronze colour. It remains clean and structurally sound, but evidence of a long life is apparent.
A Tibetan silk brocade cushion and a ringer are all included in the price.
