Antique Naga Singing Bowl. Note: C4 (Root Chakra)

This lovely antique Naga or Pedestal Singing Bowl with its graceful and rare shallow form is certainly the finest and quite possibly the oldest Naga I have come across in over 30 years of collecting. The fundamental note is a nice middle C (255Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim. It is the best of 3 similar bowls in my collection, the others being a B3 (240Hz) (pictured below, right), and a perfect pitch F#3.
This particular bowl is heavier and superior in several respects with its uniquely grooved lip, a tiny eye at the centre, and a boldly incised inscription on the outer wall; a fair indication of the high esteem in which this bowl was held by a former keeper.
It has been superbly crafted and is in museum quality condition save for a stain inside which could possibly be removed if desired. It has a wonderfully rich dark bronze colour, and the look and feel of great antiquity.
A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
