A large and beautiful antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a wonderful pulsating third octave F (178Hz) fundamental whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.   The rim note changes to a C#5 if a wooden ringer is employed.  This 18^th – 19^th century Jambati has a gracefully curved wall, a thick plain lip, circles at its centre and a simple decorative band around the rim.  This beautifully forged bowl benefits from a small but nicely incised inscription.  The condition of this bowl is excellent and the quality of sound second to none…the struck note in particular is stunning, with a long sustain.
