This is a fabulous antique Jambati Singing Bowl of superior quality in an excellent state of preservation.  It’s a very pretty bowl too, with finely hammered walls that provide lots of surface interest inside and out.  It has an excellent level lip, and two incised bands form a decorative collar around the outer rim.

With a diameter of just 8 inches this bowl is exceptionally small (and light) for a Jambati, and it will appeal greatly to those who love this bowl form but struggle to hold and play the typically larger and heavier bowls.

This is a very responsive and easy bowl to play.  The fundamental note is a lovely third octave Bb with a frequency of 229-230Hz.  The rim note is the same. 

This bowl will also produce nice fountains if played around the rim with a little water inside.  A ringer is included in the price.
