This is a superior quality antique Thadobati singing bowl.  It has been beautifully forged with a flat bottom and very finely hammered high-sided walls that slightly taper towards the rim.  There are boldly incised concentric circles radiating from its centre, and a single line encircles the inner wall just below the rim.  Several more incised lines form a smooth decorative collar below the outer rim, contrasting nicely with the hammered surface below.

A particularly interesting feature is the seemingly random series of small ritual digs or cuts that encircle the bowl’s outer wall.  The bowl is structurally sound and in excellent clean condition, with a very attractive antique golden bronze colour.

The fundamental note is an excellent and low third octave E with a frequency of 162Hz.  A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
