Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Note: C4 & F#5 (Root & Heart Chakras)
Weight 1.04 kilos (2 lb 4 ½ oz). Size 21 x 6 cm (8 ¼ x 2 ¼ inches)
This is a superb example of a rare 18th Century lingam singing bowl of the type used by shaman. It has ia very low shallow profile and a wide flanged lip. The unusually large lingam at its centres is surrounded by two sets of circles, and there is a deep navel or yoni underneath. It has been expertly crafted and is heavy for its size.
The fundamental note is a lovely middle C4 (255Hz) when stuck with a padded mallet, and a fifth octave F#5 (731Hz) when played around the rim.
It is in exceptional museum quality condition and has the most beautiful aged patina. A very rare and desirable bowl indeed!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
