This is a fabulous rare large antique Lingam Singing Bowl (Circa 1800) with two excellent notes and multiple harmonics. The fundamental is a low third octave D3 (150Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a piercing fifth octave G5 (785-800Hz) with a wooden ringer. This interesting and complex bowl has multiple subtle harmonics that include D3 (150Hz), Eb3 (153Hz), G5 (785-800Hz), Eb6 (1230Hz) and A4 (430Hz).
This antique bowl has a rare shallow form with fine walls, a sheered lip, and a flat bottom. There is a large pointed lingam surrounded by circles at its centre and a deep navel or yoni underneath.
It is in excellent structural condition, free of stains, and has a bright golden bronze colour.
A truly rare and lovely Lingam in every respect.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
