Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl. F5 (712Hz) Heart Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 2¾ oz. (533g). Size 12 x 5.5 cm (approx. 4¾ x 2¼ inches)
This is a fabulous small antique Thadobati Singing Bowl dating from the 19th century, possibly earlier. At just over half a kilo this is a heavy bowl for its size, with thick walls that would have proved difficult to forge. It has a grooved lip, circles at its centre, and incised bands inset with sun motifs forming a decorative collar below the outer rim.
The fundamental note is a nice fifth octave F (712Hz). The note is the same whether struck or played around the rim with the wooden ringer supplied.
This little bowl is a very fine example of an older Thadobati. It is in excellent condition and has bags of character.
