Antique Remuna Singing Bowl. A3 (Third Eye Chakra) & D5
Weight 0 lb 15 ½ oz. (442g). 17 x 8.5 cm (approx. 6 ¾ x 3 ¼ inches)
This is a fabulous and versatile antique Remuna singing bowl. Its exceptionally ultra-fine walls give rise to a range of stunning voices including a concert pitch third octave A fundamental note when struck with a padded mallet, and an incredible fifth octave D with multiple subtle harmonics when played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer. This bowl is very responsive and its lightness makes it easy to hold and play for a long time without tiring. With a little water inside it also has some talking and fountain ability.
This is a very old bowl, as evidenced by its fine smooth surfaces inside and out, and the absence of the original decorative features, worn away with use and the passage of time.
Apart from its quality of sound this is also a good-looking bowl with its simplicity of form, clean smooth surfaces, and glorious antique golden colour inside and out.
It would make an excellent choice for someone seeking just one special bowl, but will also appeal to any discerning collector.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
