SOLD
Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl. C#4 Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 2 lb 0 ¼ oz (845g). 16.5 x 8 cm (approx. 6 ½ x 3 ¼ inches)
This is a fine quality large antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with an excellent voice…a beautiful mid octave C# whether struck or played around the rim with a ringer.
This perfectly balanced 19th century bowl has the thick high-sided walls and flat bottom that characterize the Thadobati form. It has a deeply grooved lip and two sets of boldly incised concentric circles radiating from the centre of the basin, and also several decorative bands around its belly.
This Thadobati bowl is just the right size and weight for holding and playing. It has a nice antique bronze colour and is in an excellent state of preservation.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
