This is a rare medium-sized antique Lingam Singing Bowl with an F#3 fundamental and a surprisingly powerful and excellent C5 rim note.  These two notes sing beautifully together if the bowl is first struck and then immediately played around the rim with a suede ringer.  A heavy padded striker will produce a perfect concert pitch F#3 (listen to second strike in the audio clip below).  It’s a very responsive bowl that is an ideal size for holding and playing.

This is a high quality bowl with finely forged walls that make it light for its size.  It has a smooth surface inside and out, and a lovely antique gold colour.  Inside there is a superb central lingam surrounded by a pair of concentric circles, and an excellent navel on the underside.
