Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl. D3 Note (Sacral Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 3 ¼ oz (543g). 16.5 x 8.5 cm (approx. 6 ½ x 3 ¼ inches)
This is a fairly large antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with ultra-fine walls that make it very light for its size, and also accounts for its beautiful, interesting, and virtually perfect concert pitch voice…a rather sombre, haunting and low third octave D fundamental (147Hz).
It’s an easy bowl to play and the note is the same whether struck or played around the rim.
This is an attractive bowl with a nice golden colour. It is strong and structurally sound despite its fine walls, and of clean appearance inside and out apart from some old stains underneath. There are two sets of concentric decorative circles at its centre, an incised line close to the rim, and another a third of the way down the outer wall.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
