Graceful Antique Remuna Singing Bowl – Lovely F/F#3

Antique Remuna Singing Bowl.  Notes F#3 & C5 (Heart & Crown Chakras)

Weight 893 grams (1 lb x 15½ oz).  Size 18 x 9.5 cm (7 x 3 ¾ inches)

This is an excellent example of this rare bowl form. The lovely fundamental note flickers between a third octave F3 and F#3 (178Hz – 180Hz) with a long sustain when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a powerful fifth octave C5 (510Hz – 514Hz) with a wooden ringer, again with a long sustain.

This bowl is beautifully proportion and is a delight to hold and play.  It has a gracefully curved wall, a plain sheared lip, and well defined sets of concentric circles at the centre and up the wall, as well as a pair of incised bands forming a decorative collar around the outer rim.   There are also some sacred ritual gashes on the outer wall.

It’s a very attractive antique bowl that is structurally sound, clean and free of stains and blemishes.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
