Antique Ultabati Singing Bowl. B2 (125Hz) Crown Chakra
Weight 6 lb 6 ½ oz (2.91 kilos). 30.5 x 16 cm (approx. 12 x 6 ¼ inches)
This large, heavy, thick-walled Antique Ultabati Singing Bowl has a fabulous low pulsating second octave B fundamental (125Hz) that is very close to concert pitch, and two harmonics… a third octave Bb (239Hz) and a middle F (353Hz). The vibrant struck note is among the very best I have come across in 30 years.
Himalayan Ultabati bowls have a very distinctive caldron-like form, a scooped or flared neck and an out-turned downward-sloping lip. Often their walls are relatively thin for their size, but this one is unusually thick and at almost 3 kilos the bowl is very heavy. There are decorative concentric circles at its centre and encircling its shoulder.
This antique Ultabati bowl has a dark bronze colour and is in excellent structural condition.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
