Believed to date from the 18^th or 19^th century this large Thadobati Singing Bowl in its uncleaned ‘as found’ condition…tarnished with grime on the outside (some would say a rich patina) but quite clean on the inside.  If you like your singing bowls to have the look and feel of great antiquity then this bowl will delight!   It is structurally sound and would clean up nicely if desired.  This is a top quality bowl, thick and heavy, with an attractive gently curved wall, circles at its centre, a good grooved lip and a dot decoration surrounding the outer rim.  It’s a responsive bowl…the struck and played notes being the same C#4 (278/9Hz) which is quite close to concert pitch.   Beneath the patina this bowl is in excellent condition.  A lovely old bowl!
