Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – A3 (220Hz) Third Eye Chakra
Weight 1.04 kilos (2 lb 4½ oz).  Size 7¼ x 3½ inches (18.5 x 9 cm)

This is a rare medium-large antique Lingam singing bowl of the high-wall Thadobati type with a superb third octave voice that is a perfect pitch A (220Hz) when struck or played around the rim.

This lovely old bowl dates from around 1800 and has clearly been well used in its lifetime.

Its walls are slightly bruised in places and the decorative features are worn down a little, but its general condition is very good, clean and structurally sound.

This bowl has all the characteristics of the Thadobati-Lingam form – a flat bottom, high straight-sided walls, and a level rim.  It has an excellent pointed lingam at its centre, defined and surrounded by two sets of circles, and there is a nice navel on the underside.  The outer rim is decorated with a band of small cuts that are typical of the period.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.

A rare, beautiful, and characterful old Lingam singing bowl with a really excellent voice!
