Huge 13.5 inch Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Concert Pitch F2

SOLD

Antique Tibetan Jambati Singing Bowl.  F2 Note (Heart Chakra)
Weight 6 lb 15 ½ oz (3.17 Kilos). 33.5 x 17 cm (13 ½ x 6 ¾ inches)

This is a wonderful old bowl of the finest quality, with a beautiful golden colour, deep full-bodied form and a fabulous high-sided profile.  Its smooth finely forged walls make this bowl relatively light for its great size, and contribute to is lovely mellow sound.  This bowl is in excellent condition for its age and looks as good as it sounds.

Huge antique bowls of this size and quality are very rare indeed.   This stunning antique bowl has a neat inward-facing lip and several decorative incised lines bordering the outer rim.  The inside floor has several decorative incised concentric circles at its centre.

The sound of this antique singing bowl is exceptional. The struck and played notes are the same wonderful low second octave F that is virtually concert pitch.

However, the character of the struck and played notes is entirely different.

The struck note is sweet, musical and particularly beautiful.  The played note is ponderous, meditative, and resonant.  Both are wonderful!  This bowl will also produce excellent fountains if played with a little water inside.

Simply a fabulous bowl!

The price includes a Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion; a large padded striker, and a teak and suede ringer.

Listen: (4 struck notes and 2 played notes…the first resting on a cushion, the second handheld)

Note: As this is an unusually heavy bowl there will be a surcharge to cover the additional cost of shipping and insurance to destinations outside the UK.  Overseas buyers will later be invoiced at cost for any shipping and insurance shortfall (estimated to be around $100 to USA and Canada).
