This old caldron-shaped Himalayan Ultabati singing bowl has lots of vibrational energy and a wonderfully low voice that just happens to be perfect concert pitch! The fundamental note is a beautiful and resonant second octave A when stuck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a heavy suede ringer. A very heavy suede ringer will produce an OM sound. If played around the rim with a little water inside, this bowl will also produce fountains.
This bowl has been beautifully forged. It has a deep full body and a flat triangulated inward facing lip. There are circles at its centre and some incised lines forming a decorative band around the outer rim. This band, a natural golden bronze, contrasts sharply with the blackened surface finish of the bowls outer wall. But the contrast is even more striking when set against the golden interior!
A large Tibetan brocade bowl cushion, a padded mallet and a teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
A wonderful example of this uncommon bowl form!
