This superior quality 19th century Thadobati Singing Bowl is in excellent condition and has a lovely golden bronze colour. It is exceptionally large and heavy for a Thadobati. It has gracefully curved walls, a grooved lip, circles at its centre, and bands of fine cuts forming a decorative collar below the outer rim.
This is a multi-harmonic singing bowl. The fundamental struck note is a lovely third octave F (172Hz). The rim note is the same if played with a suede ringer, but a wooden one changes the note to a perfect pitch middle B (493Hz) or a fifth octave Bb (937Hz) depending upon playing technique.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
