This is a superb caldron-shaped Ultabati singing bowl with impressive vibrational energy and a wonderfully low voice…a second octave E flat when stuck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a heavy suede ringer.  The struck note is simply beautiful, while the rim note has an amazing and rumbling didgeridoo quality and resonance that gives this bowl a very powerful presence.

 

Ultabati Singing BowlIt is a very well crafted bowl with a thick grooved outward-sloping lip, a deep waisted rim, incised circles at its centre, and a full body all in excellent clean condition.  It has an extremely pretty shape and the nut-brown gold of the basin and collar contrasts nicely with the mottled black surface of the exterior.

 

Singing bowls of this quality and size are rare and few and far between.

 

A large brocade bowl cushion, a heavy padded striker, and a large ringer are included in the price.
