Weight 5 lb 5 ½ oz (2.43 Kilos). 31 x 15 cm (12¼ x 6 inches)
This beautiful old Ultabati Singing Bowl has a low second octave F# fundamental and an amazing vibrant energy that one can physically feel without touching.
It is the played note that really sets this bowl apart. A heavy suede ringer (supplied) will produce the powerful resonant and rumbling OM sound that one associates with sacred Tibetan Buddhist chanting as it vibrates on contact with the rim. But a little increase in pressure will bring out the normal F#2 voice. The struck note is also excellent, with a good pulse and sustain. It will also produce great fountains if played with a little water inside.
This handsome Singing Bowl has the characteristic Ultabati caldron-like shape and typical downward sloping lip.
It has a fabulous mottled leopard-spot outer surface and a stunning golden interior. It is in superb condition; clean and free of stains and blemishes. The price includes a large padded striker, and a heavy suede ringer.
