Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Eb3 Note (Solar Plexus Chakra)
Weight 5 lb 15 ½ oz (2.71 Kilos). 29 x 14 cm (approx. 11 ½ x 5 ½ inches)
This is an exceptionally fine antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a beautiful full-bodied form and a stunning voice. The struck note is particularly lovely with a pronounced rhythmic pulse and long long sustain. The fundamental note is a wonderful low 3rd octave E flat whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. This stunning bowl is also capable of producing excellent fountains.
This is a heavy bowl weighing virtually 6 pounds. It has an impressive diameter approaching 12 inches. It is extremely well forged with thick regular walls, a strong triangulated lip, and a finely decorated incised collar. It has a very attractive golden bronze colour and is in an excellent state of preservation with barely a mark or blemish inside or out. It has particularly attractive small hammer markings on the outside that add considerably to its surface interest.
A Tibetan brocade bowl cushion, a heavy teak and suede ringer, and the padded mallet featured in the photograph are all included in the price.
