Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes D3 & A4 (Sacral & Third Eye Chakras)
Weight 2.53 kilos (5 lb 9 oz). Size 28 x 11.5 cm (11 x 4 ½ inches)
This handsome and impressive 19th Century Jambati Singing Bowl has a powerful pulsating third octave D3 fundamental (151Hz) with a long sustain when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a middle A4 (442Hz) with a wooden ringer.
It is a well-crafted and heavy bowl with interesting hammer markings, a flat bottom, thick even walls, and a grooved lip. There are well-defined circles at its centre and several decorative bands forming a collar around the outer rim.
This antique bowl is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, and has a fairly dark bronze colour with lots of surface interest.
A fine example of an uncommonly large Jambati Singing Bowl with an excellent voice!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
