A lovely small antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with lots of interesting decorative features.  The fundamental note is a perfect pitch fifth octave A (880Hz) when struck or played around the rim. 

 

This bowl has lived a long life and some of its many decorative features have been worn down through use over the years.  These include a circle of suns (punched dots surrounded by circles) at its centre and all around the lip…now just the dots remain. 

 

The outer wall features a series of ritual gashes around the rim, and a band of suns.

 

This bowl has fine smooth walls inside and out and is a pleasure to hold and play.  It is in good clean structural condition.   A ringer is included in the price.
