This is undoubtedly one of the very best antique Jambati singing and fountain bowls in our collection.  It has a wonderfully pure and sonorous third octave fundamental F note with a massive sustain.  It sings the same beautiful pulsating note whether struck or played around the rim, and with a little water inside it will produce excellent fountains.

This bowl is in in extremely good condition, with a strong micro-grooved lip and one of the prettiest hammer-mottled interiors we’ve seen.  There are several concentric circles on the inside floor and, unusually, high up on the inside wall.  This wonderful old bowl also benefits from a small but excellent inscription just below the decorative band on outer wall.
