Antique Ultabati Singing Bowl. Notes F#2/G2 (Heart/Throat Chakras)
Weight 3 lb 7 ½ oz (1.57 kilos). 26 x 13.5 cm (approx. 10 ¼ x 5 ¼ inches)
This superb large and versatile Antique Ultabati Singing Bowl has a beautiful low fundamental note that is midway between F#2 and G2 with a fluctuating frequency around 95Hz. The note is the same whether struck or played around the rim. A heavy suede ringer will produce a vibrant OM sound, and this bowl will also produce fountains if played with a little water inside.
This is a attractive and nicely balanced bowl in excellent and clean condition with a polished interior. It has the distinctive caldron-like form, a scooped or flared neck and an out-turned downward-sloping lip. There are decorative concentric circles at its centre and encircling its shoulder. An unusual feature is the raised mound at its center.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a striker and a heavy ringer are all included in the price.
