Large 11” Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Concert Pitch B2 and Long Sustain

This antique Jambati Singing Bowl has an excellent low second octave concert pitch B fundamental (124Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer, and a powerful F#4 (376Hz) harmonic when played with a wooden one.  This bowl has an unusually long sustain.

It’s quite heavy for its size and has been very nicely forged, with finely hammered walls, a triangulated lip, circles at its centre and a decorative band encircling the outer rim.

This antique bowl is structurally sound and basically clean, with an attractive golden bronze colour.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded mallet and a ringer are all included in the price.

PS. This antique bowl is part of my original collection, and having visited Nepal 7 times in the last 18 months I cannot stress enough how hard it has become to source genuine antiques of this size and quality, with bowls over 11 inches (28cm) now almost impossible to find.
