Weight 4 lb 12 ¼ oz. (2.16 kilos). Size 30 x 13.5 cm (11 ¾ x 5 ¼ inches)
This is a large and superbly forge antique Jambati Singing Bowl with finely hammered walls, a triangulated lip, circles at its centre and decorative bands around and below the outer rim.
The fundamental note is an excellent and pulsating concert pitch middle F# (321Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim. The fundamental is sometimes accompanied by a subtle B2/Bb2 harmonic.
This substantial singing bowl has a lovely shape and is in excellent structural condition with a fine coating of grime and aged copper oxidization that could be removed if desired. I personally think it adds character and reflects its antiquity.
A Tibetan silk brocade cushion, a padded striker, and a ringer are all included in the price.
Listen: (2 struck notes and 1 played note with suede ringer)
