Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes A2 & E4 (Third Eye & Solar Plexus Chakras)
Weight 2.14 kilos (4lb 11 ½ oz). Size 29 x 12 cm (approx. 11 ¼ x 4 ¾ inches)
This is an attractive large and relatively shallow antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a rare low second octave A fundamental (108Hz) when struck with a padded mallet, and a middle E (336Hz) when played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer. This bowl will also make fountains if played with a little water inside.
It has been well forged and has circles at its centre and a decorative band encircling the outer rim. This antique bowl is structurally sound and virtually free of stains and blemishes.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded mallet and a ringer are all included in the price.

Listen: (3 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede then wood ringer)
Note: This antique bowl is part of my original collection, and having visited Nepal 7 times within the last 18 months I cannot stress enough how hard it has become to source genuine antiques of this size and quality, with bowls over 11 inches (28cm) now almost impossible to find.
