Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: C3 & G#4 (Root & Throat Chakras)
Weight 5 lb 3 ¼ oz. (2.36 kilos). Size 30 x 14 cm (12 x 5 ½ inches)
This large antique Jambati Singing Bowl has a fabulous powerful and pulsating third octave C fundamental (133Hz) and a long pulse when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a middle F# if a wooden ringer is employed.
This is a well-crafted bowl with fine evenly-hammered walls that have worn smooth over the years. It has a triangulated and grooved lip, faint circles at its centre, and boldly incised decorative bands forming a collar around the outer rim.
This substantial and handsome antique Jambati bowl is in excellent structural condition, clean, with a golden bronze colour and some copper oxidization inside.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
