This impressive Jambati Singing Bowl is believed to date from the early 20th century and has a beautiful golden bronze colour and an honest simplicity of form without any decorative artwork.

It has an excellent low second octave G2 (95/6Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The powerful struck note has a pronounced beat and would easily fill a large hall.  The vibrant energy of this bowl is such that it will readily produce the OM sound with a heavy suede ringer. The rim note changes to an excellent fifth octave C#5 (567Hz) with a wooden ringer.

This lovely singing bowl is quite heavy, and best placed on a mat or cushion for playing.  It has a sheered lip.  It is structurally sound, clean, and free of stains.  Its hammered walls are sensually smooth to the touch both inside and out.  The interior is golden, and it has a very attractive mottled surface to the outside wall.  

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and a ringer are all included in the price.
